Yuckola Week

This certainly hasn’t been the best week I’ve ever had.  Although, Sunday was quite good!  I bought Ice Dog hockey tickets through work, so my little mother, Mike and I went to the game at 2:00.  It’s very convenient as the arena is walkable from my apartment.  Here’s the goalie getting taken down:

They did well the first period and I think it was most of the second as well, but then fell apart and ended up losing in the third.  On a bright note, we got to watch the little kids play after each period:

They were so cute!  Especially as a bunch of them fell while they were skating along.

I didn’t do too much Sunday evening as I was starting to feel rather poorly.  It seemed like I was getting yet another bladder infection – less than a month after my last one.  I went to the walk-in clinic on Monday and got some more antibiotics.  Yippee.  This meant I had to cancel my Tysabri infusion for today (mini happy dance!).

While at home, vegging on the couch, little Abby watched over me:

She’s all droopy.  Tee hee!

That night while I was laying in bed, watching TV with the lights out, I looked over and saw this adorable scene between Boo and Mya:

Mya tolerated the licking for about a minute, and then “politely” told Boo to bugger off.

Today my mother, aunt and I went to the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton for my cystoscope (bladder scope) appointment.  The best part was that I got to wear this sexy ensemble:

Really glad it’s over with.  Feeling rather drained mentally and physically after it.  The fact that I have a bladder infection, sinus infection and am getting a cold is making it a little difficult to deal with things.  Still trying to be positive and happy though!

Today’s symptoms: Energy was decent, but just feeling really lousy.  Not sure how much is the infections and which is MS symptoms.  Really looking forward to going to bed tonight!

Flightacular

How convenient – the weather was great today and I had the day off.  I asked my friend at the airport yesterday if he could plug Vyctor in and get him all ready for a flight today:

The first part of my flight consisted of going up over the airport and doing some aerobatics:

As usual, my horizon indicator went all wonky with the different attitudes:

After a bunch of maneuvers, I flew over Niagara Falls, which I haven’t done in quite a few months.  It looked amazing:

Great flight – until the next time, Vyctor!

When I got home, little Abby was keeping my spot warm on the couch:

I moved her over and put her on my lap, then she got extra googly:

Meanwhile, Mya and Pinky hung out in the bathroom:

Today’s symptoms: Felt pretty good.  As usual, the flight completely wiped me out.  I’m going to spend the rest of the evening chilling and reading a book.

Wow, Some Weird Stuff

I think I mentioned in my last blog that I had two laptops crash, so I had to buy a new one.  Some pics are in order of the final moments of their lives:

Farewell, my friends!  We had some good times together – good times.  So, I of course had to switch over to Windows 8 which I’m getting used to.  At least there is a way to put it back to the look of Windows 7.  Much more tolerable.

Carrying on with some wackiness, Boo is nuts.  She has to carry her toys around everywhere and drop them off at random places.  Here was the other morning:

I’m sure the other kittahs were really impressed.  However, speaking of putting things in weird places….I have this weird thing where I hate it when there is someone else’s bum warmth on my chair.  I mistakenly said this to a co-worker, who for years now has been sitting in my chair if he walks by and sees that I have stepped away from my desk for a minute.  I moved to a different part of the office from him, but he has managed to track me down.  I got up briefly last week and when I came back to my desk, a neighbour co-worker said that Rob recently came by and made sure that my chair was extra hot for when I came back.  Ugh!  I felt so filthy and soiled!  Less than an hour later, I had to get up and go to the washroom.  I wasn’t going to allow him to corrupt my chair again, so I brought it with me:

Needless to say, I had a few questions from coworkers who were already in there, but I explained the situation and they were totally supportive.

Back to the kittahs, there was this cute fight scene between Pinky and Boo:

Congrats, Boo.  Dorks.

In other joyous news, I have been watching the odd event in the Olympics.  Such a rush – the first medal ceremony that Canada placed in (and of course, there have been many since then):

I get goose bumps whenever I hear we’ve won another medal.  Just a tad patriotic.

I’m happy to report that our weather is finally getting a bit better.  I’m off Thursday so I’m hoping to go for a flight.  I wasn’t able to fly this previous weekend.  On Saturday, Mike and I went shopping in Burlington, then came home and ordered this enormous batch of poutine.  It’s from a food truck about a block away from my apartment:

We made the ultimate sacrifice and managed to nom the entire thing.  Burp.

Sunday, we went to the birthday party of one of our Recreational Aircraft Association members.  He turned 90, however, he looks and acts like he’s in his 70′s.  This is what I wrote in his card:

Today’s symptoms: Had some serious fatigue issues – went home from work a bit early and soon after my work day was done at 4:00, I fell asleep on my couch.  Had some really bad aches and pains today too, but tomorrow is going to be much better.

Early Valentine’s Day

Mike and I had a great day yesterday. I decided to give him an early Valentine’s Day present.  I had a couple places in mind where I wanted to take him but I didn’t want to tell him where we were going.  Place number one was an alpaca farm in Pelham.  I had been to one years ago and it was a rather enjoyable experience.  They are just so darn cute.  With him still not knowing where we were going, we headed out to one in St. Catharines. I drove up to the place but couldn’t see any alpacas.  I had another farm in mind, so I was going to take him to place number two first before heading out to the second alpaca farm. Mike loves pancakes so I decided to take him to White Meadows Farms for breakfast. Neither of us had ever been there before.  We had a great meal in a great atmosphere.

What I didn’t mention earlier is that Mike was really nervous about where we were going.  I guess some of the hints I gave him didn’t really help. Knowing none of this would ever happen, I told him that he could get maimed and hoped he had a good health plan. He was thinking we were going to go cliff diving or something.  After our awesome breakfast, we headed out to the second alpaca farm. It was the one I’d been to two years ago – Moore House Alpaca Farm.  As soon as we came around the corner, there were all the cute little alpacas. Mike was a little surprised that I pulled right into the driveway of the house.  We stood at the fence for a couple minutes looking at the alpacas in the distance.

The owner of the house and farm then came outside.  I asked him if it was okay that we were there and he said absolutely.  He then took us further into the enclosure so we were right up close to the alpacas.  Check out these great pics:

The two blondes:

He was so nice – he stood and talked to us about the alpacas for about ten minutes.  We learned so much.  I’m definitely going to tell a couple of my knitting and crocheting friends where they can get awesome alpaca wool.  The owner coming out and talking to us like that made the experience totally perfect.  We are both so grateful.

Once back home, we continued trying to fix my laptop which broke a couple days ago.

I was really, really tired so I took a little nap:

The weather doesn’t seem too good to fly this weekend. On a bright note, I was able to go up for about an hour and a half on Thursday.  It was the first time I did aerobatics in almost two months. I didn’t think my stomach would handle going for too long but I did aerobatics for almost half an hour.

As usual, my blog wouldn’t be a blog without cute little kitty pictures.  Boo and I held paws:

Abby was googly (as usual):

Pinky is looking lovely and pleasant (for a change):

Mya was warming her paws on the heater:

And Boo was sporting this lovely new look:

I seem to be having a bit of an issue today.  Everything involving technology + moi is going horribly wrong.  My little mother brought my old laptop up to my apartment, while we continued to try and fix my other one.  It was working fine before but now it’s in the same state as the other broken one.  I don’t get it.  Also, Mike and I were out shopping and when we got back into my car, it wouldn’t start and showed my electronic key wasn’t present.  Hello – I just changed the battery and the key was in my pocket.  I’m doing this blog on Mike’s laptop right now and we’re just waiting for it to start smoking….

Today’s symptoms:  Pretty bad headache today but I’m pretty sure that it has to do with not getting too much sleep last night.  My fatigue level is a little less than average, so I’m going to focus on that positive.
